Day one through day four of work included Dean, the lead carpenter, digging huge holes in our backyard. The original plan was for small holes, and wheelbarrows worth of cement. The soil engineer and the city of Corvallis intervened, and we ended up with 52" square holes, 2.5 feet deep. And a cement mixer and pumping truck.
